Stanley Dean Birdwell, 67, of Greenville passed away August 22, 2011, at Greenville Health and Rehabilitation. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Tidwell Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Randy Rather will officiate. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.
Born January 24, 1944 in Josephine, Stanley was the son of Clarence and Laura (Oris) Birdwell. He worked in plant manufacturing having worked at Walker-McDonald. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his brothers, Lynn Birdwell of Greenville and Glynn Birdwell of Jefferson; sisters Mary Evelyn Laton of Amarillo and Sandra Sue Hart of Carrollton; sister-in-law Nell Birdwell of Balch Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 5 brothers James, Don, Charles, Kenneth and Harry Birdwell.
Pallbearers will be Roger Johnson, Todd Martin, and Aaron Martin.
