Carson David Fortenbury, 98, of Commerce passed away November 1, 2010 at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Commerce. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville, with Frank Morgan officiating. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Carson was born September 1, 1912 in Tennessee to Edgar David and Ollie Mary Turner Fortenbury. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tolly Allen Fortenbury. Mr. Fortenbury was retired from the City of Commerce Maintenance Departement and was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
