"Scott & Delona,
My sincere condolences for the loss of your beloved Son.
Derek Loved you very much, in my time working beside him at TI for ~8 years, he always talked about you daily. He had the Heart of a servant and was a very compassionate man, he would give you the shirt off his back if you asked him for it. My prayer for you is that God will grant you an undescribable peace that only He can give to you through out this season in your lives."

"Miss working with Derek at TI, and sending emails back and forth post-layoff, and the occasional phone call. Derek was always friendly and spoke wherever you were, we had a lot of laughs together. He and I both loved firearms and we enjoyed talking about them often. A good friend will sorely be missed.
Derek, hope to see you again someday, in heaven."
