Jesse C. Holloway, 74, of Greenville passed away on March 31, 2010 at Hunt Regional Medical Center. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, April 5th at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Herbert officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Jefferson Cemetery in Arkansas with visitation on Tuesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Home in Dumas. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Holloway was born December 3, 1935 in Yorktown, Arkansas to J. C. and Iva Bernice Ozment Holloway. On July 13, 1958, he married Margaret Hawley in Tillar, Arkansas. In 1987, he retired as a Colonel from active reserve in the U. S. Army Intelligence. He was employed as an electrical engineer at L-3 Communications Integrated Systems retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Greenville, Gideons International and U.C.T. He was also a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.
His survivors include his wife, Margaret of Greenville; daughters Jessica Knowles and husband Steven of the Tyler area and Jennifer Widmer and husband Ricky of Franklin, Tennessee, and grandchildren Shari Widmer Babb, Rebecca Widmer, Phillip Knowles, Eric Widmer, and Thomas Knowles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepmother, and sister.
Pallbearers will be J. W. Housewright, Victor Paul, Tim Stainback, Jon Hansen, John Nelson, and Barry Robinson. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Men’s Adult 7 Sunday School Class of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
