Dorothy N. Smith, 80, of Greenville passed away on Friday, October 26, 2007 at Greencrest Manor. Private graveside services were held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
She was born in Bonham on July 19, 1927 to Jesse Edwin Smith and Beechie Simmons. She joined the faculty of the Greenville Independent School District in 1953. Taught third and fourth grades at Austin and Carver Elementary Schools until retirement in 1985. She was a member of Central Christian Church.
She is survived by her brother, William E. Smith of Bonham, cousins, Mary Gene Erwin of Arlington, Joe C. Johnson of Caddo Mills, Shirley Keller of Greenville and Jack May of Dallas.
She is preceded in death by her Father in 1974 and mother in 1987.
In Lieu of flowers, it is requested that memorials be made to projects, organizations or charities of choice.
