Billy “Bill” Blankenship, 70, of Floyd passed away December 13, 2009 at his residence. Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jay Sikes officiating. Interment will follow at

His survivors include his wife of Floyd; son Steve Blankenship and wife Debbie of Merit; brother Elice Blankenship and wife Wanda; sisters Helen Dodd, Mildred Sierra and husband Ernie, Linda Haney and husband Phil, Geraldean “Jerri” Smith and husband Dennis; Ruby Smith and husband Lloyd; and Beulah Jenkins; grandchildren Suzette Smith; and Chad, Troy, Billy and Cody Blankenship; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Raymond Dale Blankenship, great-grandchild Chasta Blankenship, and brother Elmer Blankenship.
