Curtis Bloyed, Sr.

Curtis L. Bloyed, Sr., 93, of Greenville passed away November 29, 2009 at Greencrest Manor.  Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnnie Hailes and Rev. Jay Sikes officiating.  Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Bloyed was born Mach 21, 1916 in Greenville to James Franklin and Mary Fulce Bloyed.  On January 25, 1939 he married Wynona Faye Ray in Greenville.  She preceded him in death on June 12, 1979. He was retired from the City of Greenville and was a member of Park Street Baptist Church.

His survivors include his son Curtis L. Bloyed, Jr. and wife Elaine of Greenville; daughter Linda Swafford and husband Jimmie of Greenville; sister Mary Sanders of Greenville; three grandchildren Darin Swafford and wife Tammy, Ben Bloyed and wife Sandy, and Stacy Landrum and husband Keith; and great-grandchildren Morgan ­­­and Meagan Bloyed, Gerald and Jill Landrum, and Kyle Swafford.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers, 3 sisters, and a great-grandson Corey Swafford.

Pallbearers will be Ben Bloyed, Keith Landrum, Kyle Swafford, Jimmy Williams, Thomas Milton, and Lester Chapman.
