Billy J. Smith, 85, of Greenville, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Harrison House in Greenville. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 6 at the Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Paul Gould presiding. Interment will follow at East Mount Cemetery. Visitation will begin Tuesday at the Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until servive time.
Billy was born on March 16, 1924 to Joe and Willie Lois Davis Smith in Greenville. He married Joyce M. Ray on August 19, 1949 in Greenville. He served in the Navy and was retired from Hughes Aircraft as a Senior Project Engineer. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a sister, Patricia Enloe of McKinney and a brother, Bob Norsworthy of Cumby.
