Bobbie Craver Mitchell Callaway, 72, of Celeste, Texas went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday evening, June 21, 2009, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Bobbie was born June 18, 1937 to Vina Knobles Craver and Oliver Craver in Marshall, Texas.  Her family moved to Celeste when she was a young girl.

Bobbie worked for Henson-Kickernick for 25 years.  She was a member of Kingston Baptist Church for 44 years where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and often baked for the youth fund raisers.  She had a servant’s heart, cooking for others.  She enjoyed giving more than receiving.

Her church and her family were her greatest sources of joy.  Bobbie had a smile that would light up a room and touch your heart and you knew you had met a true friend when she gave you that smile.  Bobbie married Rex Dean Mitchell on September 3, 1954, there were married for 33 wonderful years.  Four children were born from this union.  She married Don Callaway on December 11, 1987.  Bobbie made it clear that she loved her Maker and we know she had many rewards waiting on her when she got to Heaven’s doorsteps.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her first husband, Dean; a sister Terry; brothers Oliver Nelson and Fred and her youngest daughter Cathy Ray at which time Bobbie and Don raised Cathy’s son, Hunter Ray.  Bobbie was the oldest of nine children.  Towards the end of her life, when she was very ill, her two sister Vianell Moore, Marshall Horton and her husband Clifford Horton, were constantly by Bobbie’s side tending to her every need and giving her the love she had so easily given everyone else.

Bobbie is survived by her children; Debbie Sills and husband John of Kingston, Richard (Buddy) Mitchell and wife Sharon of Greenville and David Mitchell and wife Ann of Celeste; husband, Don Callaway of Celeste; step-daughters Linda Harrison and Ann Suddereth; brothers, Carol Ray Craver, Ronald Craver and Frank John Craver; sisters, Marshall Horton and Vianell Moore; grandchildren, Richard Mitchell, Jr., Clinton McCullum, Chris McCullum, Danny Ray Steven Glover, T. J. Mitchell and Hunter Ray; five step grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 23, 2009, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.  Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Callaway will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Hickey officiating.  Interment will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.  Her grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
