Kathi Lynn DeWitt-Perry, 65, of Lone Oak, Texas, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at her home. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, 2:00 P.M. at the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, September 11, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Kathi was born on December 11, 1960, in Dallas, Texas to Dale Wells DeWitt and Shirley Ann DeWitt (née Nichols). The second oldest and the only girl of 5 children, Kathi was born with a natural motherly instinct, helping to care for her brothers from a very young age. She grew up in Wills Point, Texas and attended Quinlan High School, Class of 1979. As a teenager, she played basketball, loved to cruise around in her 1969 baby blue Mustang and developed a lifelong love of music, with some of her favorite bands being Aerosmith, Leo Sayer, KC and the Sunshine Band and Ted Nugent.

In 1980, Kathi began a dedicated career at Wing Industries and continued her education at East Texas State University. When Wing closed its doors in 2000, Kathi transitioned to Pilgrim’s Pride (now JBS Food Company), where she remained a loyal employee until her passing. She took immense pride in her work, beloved and respected by her co-workers.

Kathi welcomed her daughter, Natasha, in 1981 followed by her son, Jamie, in 1987. Her children were the center of her universe, and she devoted her nights and weekends to drill team performances and football games. In 1997, Kathi married Steve Perry, completing her family with the addition of her stepdaughter, Miranda. Weekends were spent together in the backyard pool, taking beach trips to Port Aransas or vacationing in San Antonio to visit Sea World and float the Guadalupe River. Holidays were filled with joyous chaos, spent with family in China Spring, with as many as 40 people filling her parent’s house; gifts piled up to the ceiling, football blaring on the television and the laughter of a dozen children echoing off the walls. As empty-nesters, Kathi & Steve enjoyed traveling, with Nashville & Cancun being two of their favorite destinations.
In 2001, Kathi went from Mom to Mimi with the birth of her first grandchild. She absolutely loved being a grandparent and spoiled her grandkids every chance she got. Everything she did well as a mother, she managed to do even better as a Mimi - from vacations to sleepovers to roasting marshmallows and telling scary stories in the woods behind their home in Lone Oak.

Kathi was a dedicated wife and mother, devoted Mimi and beloved daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She loved fiercely and faced each day with unyielding determination and beautiful strength. She touched the hearts and lives of so many around her and will be missed profoundly.

She is survived by her husband, Steve Perry of Lone Oak, TX; her children, Natasha Kobelan and husband, Walker, of Austin, TX, Jamie Glasgow and wife, Kati, of China Spring, TX, and Miranda Perry and fiancé, Collin Sherman of Rockwall, TX; grandchildren, Peyton Madison, Gavin Glasgow, Tate Glasgow, Lola Glasgow and Grayson Kobelan; brothers, Randy DeWitt, Donny DeWitt and wife, Carol, and Jay DeWitt and wife, Jana; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Shirley DeWitt; brother, Gary DeWitt, sister-in-law, Mary Jane DeWitt, father-in-law, Kenneth Perry, mother-in-law, Billie Kelly and brother-in-law, James “Donnie” Perry.

“She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. She walked with the universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings”.

"The world has lost a beautiful soul. She was beautiful both inside and out and I loved her dearly. Her smile was contagious and she always had it on her face. The memories I have with her can never be forgotten. As teenagers we laughed and had fun and as an adults we did the same. Heaven has gained an amazing angel. My prayers go out to both family and friends. I love you Kathi and I am looking forward to the day we can laugh and have fun in Heaven."
