Rita Shepherd, 72 of Greenville, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Thursday, October 11, 2007 at Wieland Church of Christ under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Mr. John Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Cemetery.
Mrs. Shepherd was born on August 10, 1935 in Lone Oak, Texas to Buck Chapman and Jaisy Jenkins. She married Grady Wayne Shepherd on September 3, 1954 in Lone Oak, Texas. She was an insurance secretary and a member of the Wieland Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Grady Wayne Shepherd of Greenville, son and wife, Jeffrey W. and Pamela A. Shepherd of Colorado Springs, CO, brother and wife, Bud and Pat Chapman of Lone Oak and one grandchild, Zach.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Harold Cunningham, Randy Tidwell, Nathan Barrett, Fhillip Thomas Blais, John Milam and Lenon Sandlin.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home.
