Sadie Rogers
COMMERCE — Sadie Maurine Rogers, 93, of Commerce died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009. at the Hunt Regional Medical Center in Commerce. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, at Rosemound Cemetery. Jerry Speight is officiating.
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home of Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Rogers was born Dec. 16, 1915, in Commerce; the daughter of H.C. and Anna Laura Ballard Gilbert. She was married to Joe Bill Rogers on July 16, 1958, in Commerce. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Surviving are numerous cousins, Jennifer Speight and husband Danny and daughter Lorrye Speight, Catherine Speight, Willie Mae Speight, John and Helen Ballard, Preston Speight, Bettie Kennedy, Genetty and Mervin Childers and family, Madonna Kennedy, Roger Melton and family, Teresa and Reny Laughlin and family and Mike Ballard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Marvin Galey.
Honorary pallbearers are John Ballard, Roger Melton, Danny Speight, Preston Speight, John Quick and Justin Vanhooser.
Visitation is from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the cemetery.
