 Flossie Pearl Elder

 Flossie Pearl Elder, Age 87, of Greenville passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Greenville Health and Rehabilitation.  Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joyce Nelson officiating.  Burial will follow at East Mount Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Elder was born on January 21, 1921 in Paducah, Texas to Fletcher Messer and Mary Suzie Hobbs Messer.  In 1938, she married Oscar Daniel Elder in Paducah.  He preceded her in death.  She worked as an LVN and belonged to the Pentecostal church. 

Her survivors include three sons Jack Elder and wife Cristina of Greenville, Billy Elder and wife Vicky of Greenville, and Willy Elder and wife Denise of Kalamazoo, Michigan; eleven daughters Helen Hamilton and husband Paul of Alaska, Betty Greenwaldt and husband Richard of Lakewood, California, Glenda Price and husband Joe of Whitesboro, Barbara Harris and husband Alfred of Campbell; Patsy Horne and husband Charlie of Greenville, Brenda Hicks and husband Tommy of Irving; Debra Bass and husband Troy of Cash, Carolyn Ott and husband Jim of Coloma, Michigan, Kathy Hunter and husband Randy of Coloma, Michigan, Lilly Elder of Cash, and Alice Elliott and husband Lance of Lubbock; two brothers and one sister James Messer, George Gilmore and Ruby Miller all of  Ft. Worth; 37 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, twin sons Ronald and Donald Elder, daughter Judy Elder, and son James Elder, sisters Corey Mae and Dorothy Miller, and brother William Messer.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Billy Wayne Price, Charlie Horne, Daniel Harris, Chris Harris, J. D. Elder, Jim Elder, Troy Bass, Jr. and Jason Elder.
