Deborah Joan Thornton, 71, of Wills Point, Texas, passed away April 17, 2023 at the Mesquite Specialty Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Monday.
Deborah was born September 26, 1951 in Greenville, Texas to Weldon Richard and Tennie Lorene Newman Dodson. She married Alonzo Thornton on November 22, 1969 in Greenville, Texas. She was retired.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Alonzo Thornton; son, David Alonzo Thornton and wife, Malida; daughter, Tonya Casey and husband, Ron; sister, Janet Vail; grandchildren, Chase, Tabatha, Aubrey, Shyeann, David, Jr., Adian, Angelina, James, Kristin; great-grandchildren, Kaci, Skylar, Kylie, Kinzie, Brock, Jude, Theodore, Oliver, Avanya, Thomas, Ava Rose; numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sibling, Dennis Dodson.
