Robert EarlHolloway

 Robert Earl Holloway, Age 81, of White Rock Community in Hunt County passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Hunt Regional Medical Center.  Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Eason officiating.

Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.

Mr. Holloway was born on November 3, 1927 in White Rock Community to Henry Edgar Holloway and Annie Sanders Holloway.  On April 4, 1959, he married Ruth Fergerson in Greenville.  He served in the U. S. Army 11th  Airborne Division and worked at Barkley’s Garage in Greenville and was a rural mail carrier in the Celeste area.

He was a lifelong member of the White Rock United Methodist Church where he was baptized on July 28, 1929.   He served as the song leader for the church as well as various other positions of service.  He belonged to the Methodist Men’s Organization and the Celeste Lions Club.

His survivors include his wife, Ruth of White Rock; son Eddy Joe Holloway and wife, Lori of White Rock; daughter Juli Holloway Allgood of White Rock; grandson Drew Holloway and Katie of  White Rock; granddaughters Hannah Holloway, Shelby and Ashley Allgood of White Rock; great-granddaughter Baylee Holloway; and sisters Annie Alice Holloway Ronk of Granbury and  Ruth Nell Holloway St. Clair and husband, Robert of White Rock.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lucy Holloway Caldwell, and brother James Edgar Holloway.

Pallbearers will be James Carter, Jeffrey Babers, Drew Holloway, Gene Martin, Kevin McCaslin, and Keith Ragsdale.  Honorary Pallbearer will be M. D Babers.
