Kyle was born December 31, 1959, in Greenville, Texas to Emory Joe Morton and Allie Virginia Woodruff. He married Susan Elizabeth Trentham on December 21, 1987, in McKinney, Texas. He was a retired Postmaster and of the Church of Christ faith. He was an athlete. He loved playing football, basketball, baseball, and golf. He was a quarterback, a catcher, and a team leader, no matter the sport. He was also an avid sports fan. He loved all girls’ basketball, from youth sports through college, and wore many hats, as a coach, an official, and a super supporter of all the teams he loved. He was the chief scout, watcher of films, stats keeper, reporter and cheerleader for all his wife’s and daughter’s teams. He was there. He was in every gym in Texas, whether as a sportswriter as a young man, as a dad carrying his daughters to practices or games, or as an official later on. He and Susan made sure their daughters were where they needed to be. Then they would analyze every play and coach them on their way home. That’s what Dad’s do. Special times and special memories for all. The last four years have been spent making precious memories with their granddaughters, Beckham and Brady Lynn. They were truly the highlight of his days.
