Mary was born on July 21, 1925, to William Boyd and Dora Cobb Reeves in the Tidwell community north of Greenville. Both parents preceded her in death. Mary had two brothers, Wilton Reeves and W. B. (Pete) Reeves and five sisters. The sisters were Louise Money, Lucille Colbert, Bernice Castle, Estelle Prince and Freda Gooch.
She married Robert Ray (Bob) Harwell on November 15, 1942 and enjoyed 67 years before Bob passed in 2011. The couple had one daughter, Gala Rhodes, who had one son, Greg Rhodes of Anna, Heather Duke of Katy, and Hayley Ivy of Sunnyvale. Eight great-grandchildren; six boys and two girls.
Mary lived in Greenville, Texas, most of her life until Bob deceased in May of 2011. She then moved to Sugar Land to be near Gala and resided in the Greatwood Retirement Community, one mile from Gala.
When the COVID virus became widespread in 2020, Mary moved into Gala’s home. A few months later she broke her shoulder and the shock to her body resulted in her becoming bedfast for the remainder of her life.
Mary was a quiet and unassuming woman; yet she had positive influences on several people.
