James was born in Dallas, Texas on November 12, 1951, to Samuel Nealy and Judy Townsend Nealy. James was a salesman in the oil and natural gas industry.
James is survived by his sons, Jhett Nealy and James Nealy, wife, Lisa Nealy, mother-in-law, Patricia Moon, grandchildren, Jenna Nealy and Jordan Nealy, sister, Jane Nealy, aunt Elizabeth Kowalski and cousin, Lou Conn.
