John Thomas Christian, Jr.,86, of Greenville, passed away on April 29, 2020. John was born September 28, 1933, in Smithville, Tennessee to John T. Christian, Sr. and Margaret Womack Christian.
After graduating from high school, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Middle Tennessee State University. John was drafted into the United States Army, where he served until 1955.
He married Barbara Love Christian on September 14, 1957, they celebrated 62 years of marriage. John worked for Arnold Engineering in Tullahoma, Tennessee, LTV, and E-Systems. During his time with E-Systems, he and his family spent 8 years in Germany. He retired from Raytheon in 2000 and was a charter member of Aldersgate Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Christian; son, John Christian, III and wife, Melanie; sisters, Fay Nixon, Becky Womack and husband, Jimmy, and Jimmie Carol Painter; grandchildren, Rebecca Christian and Cameron Christian.
His daughter, Lisa Michelle Christian, 59, of Greenville, passed away on September 19, 2021. She will be laid to rest with her father at D/FW National Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life for John and his daughter, Lisa, will be 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 4, 2021, at Christ Community Church with Rev. Ralph Anderson officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
