Born on September 21, 1937 in the middle of The Great Depression, she was raised on a cotton farm in Hampton, AR. After being one of the first in her family to graduate from high school, she moved to find work in Little Rock, AR as a trustworthy secretary at a government agency that helped provide job opportunities for those with disabilities. In 1960, her son Craig Adamson was born in Little Rock, AR and in 1964 her daughter Christy Wright Perry was born in Hahn, Germany while she supported her husband who was currently serving in the United States Air Force overseas. She married Gene Baldwin on June 22, 1972 in Conway, Arkansas who became a spiritual pillar, rock and friend in her life.

The thing to most remember about Jesse Jane Baldwin is that she knew how to smile no matter what and she felt that her family was her ministry. She loved to sing and she also to play the piano. She was  faithful to study God’s Word and was a faithful member of Gold Creek Baptist Church in her early years as well as Highland Terrace Baptist Church in her latter. Some of her last words were “God has always been so good to me.” and she shared God’s goodness with so many that she met. She will be dearly missed by all who had the great privilege of knowing her.
