Jimmy took his final breath in the arms of his wife Jeannette on January 11, 2021. They were each other’s everything and their love was never ending.
During his life his most precious moments were spent with his children and grandchildren, who were his world. He treasured his long conversations with Brandon and Amy, helping Bryan fix cars, officiating Stephanie and Ryan’s wedding and sharing words of wisdom with David.
When he thought his life couldn’t get any better he was blessed with grandchildren. He loved nothing more than talking NBA smack with Hunter, riding the waves at Lake De Gray with Liza and Tess and playing in the dirt with Connor.
Jimmy was the man he was thanks to the love and support of his loving mother, Anna Pierce, his fathers; Clarence Apple Jr., Leon Cathey and Vernon Pierce and his grandparents; Click and Aletrice Aven.
He was loved by many including Beverly, Mike and Sarah, Debbie and Danny, Patty and Joe, Jackie and Mike, Patty and Brad and Susan. As well as many nieces and nephews.
If you were to have asked Jimmy what his secret to a full and happy life was, he would have told you it comes down to only three simple things.
First have the capacity to forgive and forget. We have all done and said things that are hurtful and that is why it’s important to forgive each other. The hardest part is to forget; as if it never happened and ideally never to be mentioned again. This will lead to some of your happiest days.
Secondly, it is the little things that are really the big things. It is not expensive gifts you give but the little things you say and do for and with each other that will take up the most room in your heart. One of the happiest things about life is creating your own little things, whatever they may be. They are what is most important and what will be remembered.
Lastly he would leave you with a bit of Lennon, “A dream you dream alone is only a dream. A dream you dream together, that is reality“.
Jimmy joins in heaven his brothers Lynn and Ronald his fathers and grandparents.
Due to the covid crisis, the family will be handling services at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you love a little deeper and spend a little extra time with those you love.
