Sarah Yvonne Posey, passed away at the age of 65 on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at Carrollton Regional Medical Center with service by Northeast Crematory, Rockwall, TX. Born on January 28, 1955 in Langdale, AL to James Posey and Lela (Fuller). She moved to McKinney, TX at age 3 and attended McKinney High School. .

After high school Sarah was employed at Capitol Wire and Cable in Plano, TX. Years later she was asked to join Encore Wire in McKinney. A choice she never regretted, she retired from Encore Wire as a supervisor in March of this year after 21 years of dedicated service. Her great work ethic and role as plant supervisor fit her servant heart. She frequently talked about the many friendships she was blessed with during her tenure.

Sarah’s faith was strong and she loved the Lord. As the scripture says, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 for God loves a cheerful giver. She exemplified that daily. Those around her would want for nothing.

Sarah had a love for fishing and went often with her family as a child. Her favorite place to fish was Lake Lavon, which she called Lake Yvonne. The family went fishing and it would always end in a fish fry. Choctaw brought a smile to her face and a pep in her step and she would go every chance she could. She enjoyed playing games and was the biggest cheerleader on game days. The Dallas Cowboys were Sarah’s favorite team and she loved them win or lose.

Sarah moved to Floyd around 1983 where she became close friends with Margaret Lovell and her family. Sarah made many memories with Margaret and her family before and after Margaret’s passing in 2013. She had a special place in her heart for Amanda Humphry and husband Steve, Daniel Lovell and wife Jessie, Durl Lovell and wife Elisha, Michael Genzel, Lydia Humphry, Matthew Humphry, Joel Humphry and Hailee Lovell all of which she loved very much. She enjoyed making memories with them.

She was preceded in death by her mother Lela Dowdy, father James Posey, brothers James Sizemore, Herbert Posey and dear friend Margaret Lovell.

She leaves behind her sister Doris Nelson and husband Doyle of McKinney, TX., sister Maryann Scott and husband Joe of Lone Oak, TX. brother Glenn Dowdy and wife Kelly of Ft. Myers FL niece Tynea Kelley and husband John of Abilene, TX, nephew Brent Nelson of Ivanhoe, TX and nephew Dan Nelson and wife Susan of McKinney, TX Daniel Nelson, of Ivanhoe, Michael Dowdy and wife Meredith of Flower Mound, Krystal Buuck and husband Montana of Nacogdoches, Josh Smith and wife Samantha of Anna. Dara Nelson of Hawaii, Diana Westhoff and husband Jeff of Ft. Worth, Sandra Ferrari and husband Neil of Dallas, Great niece Magen Taylor and wife Tye and her Great- great niece and nephew "her babies" Bowen and Macklyn Taylor of Abilene, TX., And a host of great-great nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Dr Verma, who made her feel special by telling her she was his favorite. Patty Weimer, the best RN at UTSW, with the biggest heart. Vitas nurse Colleen, who I know has trouble keeping her wings under her scrubs.

The bible tells us our life is like a vapor. We are only here for a short amount of time. While we have the chance to do good, do good. With this in mind Sarah heard the words "Well done my good and faithful servant."

We love and miss you Sarah. Thank you for loving us so much.
