Carroll Martin Rainey, age 83, passed away on May 26, 2020 in Spring, Texas.  Carroll was born to Price Rainey and Myrtle Martin Rainey in Greenville, Texas on October 21, 1936.  He had fond memories of his youth and growing up in Greenville.  He enjoyed his years at Greenville High School and graduated with the class of 1955.

He continued his education at East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas and earned a bachelor's degree.  Carroll married Sandra Ann Norman, also of Greenville. Their marriage lasted over sixty years.  Carroll and Sandra raised two sons, Norman Jeffrey Rainey and Roger Scott Rainey.

Carroll had a long enjoyable career in business management working for Montgomery Ward.  Later in life, his professional career continued as a Regional Distribution Manager for Quaker State Oil.

For the past 32 years, Carroll and Sandra called Spring, Texas their home. His greatest love was his family especially keeping up with his five grandchildren. He loved to follow the national news and the stock market and never missed a day of reading the local newspaper.  He was of the Methodist faith having grown up attending Wesley Methodist Church in Greenville.

Carroll is preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his wife, Sandra, and his two sons.  He leaves behind five grandchildren and one great grand-son.  He was adored and he will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

There will be no visitation service in accordance with the CDC guidelines.  A private graveside service will be held with the family at Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville, Texas which will be conducted by the Coker Mathews Funeral Home.
