Shirley Inez Carter, 71, of Greenville, died Saturday, August 23, 2008, at her home. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at Donelton Cemetery near Lone Oak with Rev. Jerry Mizer officiating.
Mrs. Carter was born in Blakely, Georgia on July 10, 1937, the daughter of Charles and Louise Spurlock. She was married to Jesse Carter for over 54 years and was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Jesse Carter of Greenville; daugher, Jeanette Roach of Greenville; son, Bobby Carter of Greenville; grandchildren, Jennifer Worley, Robert Roach, Rene' Roach and Merle Roach, all of Greenville; and brothers, Gene Spurlock of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Lamar Spurlock of Blakely Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Glynn Carter, daugher, Gloria Bailey and granddaughter, Melinda Carter.
Visitation will be Monday, August 25, 2008, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
