Charles Edward Wicker, 86, of Rockwall died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in Rockwall. Graveside services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, November 16, 2018 at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, with Rev. Bill Shaddox officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, November 12, 2018 at the funeral home.
Mr. Wicker was born in Greenville, Texas on May 13, 1932. He was the son of Cary Wicker, Jr. and Edna Smith Wicker. He married Louise Marie Rootier in 1950 in Brawley, California. He was First Sergeant in the U. S. Army and a retired Sergeant with Imperial County Sheriff’s Department, El Centro, California, a Sergeant with Dallas County Sheriff’s Department and University of Texas, Dallas, Police Department. He was a member of VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include his sons, Cary R. Wicker and wife Aprile Renee’ and Randy J. Wicker and wife Telese; grandchildren, Jake Wicker, Jared B. Wicker, Larissa Marie Glover, Juli Kay Wicker, Brooke Gray and Deke Gray; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
