Betty Jean "Annie" Harris, 77, of Greenville, died Saturday, July 12, 2008, in Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 15, 2008, in Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Jay Sikes officiating. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Harris was born July 30, 1930, in Lone Oak, Texas, the daughter of Harry Smiley and Estelle Fox. On May 14, 1947, she married Douglas G. Harris in Rockwall, Texas. She was a homemaker and seamstress and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Nita Smiley of Greenville; nieces, Benita Lucas of Greenville, Judy Helton of Caddo Mills, Karen Bell of Greenville and Susan Payne of Greenville; five great-nieces; three great-nephews; and thirteen great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, September 22, 1994; her parents; a brother, Bill Smiley; and her step-father, Jesse atthew "Shorty" Walker.
Pallbearers will be George Helton, Jr., Shane Giles, Chad Bell, Jason McCarthy, and Martin Nabors.
Visistation will be Monday, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
