John Wiley Gainer, Age 80 of Greenville, Texas, passed away the morning of July 2, 2008 at his residence.  Graveside services were held at 10:30 AM Thursday at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas.  Ethan Gainer officiated.

Son of John Thomas and Emma Lou Smith Gainer, he was born August 29, 1927 in Heavener, Oklahoma.  On November 10, 1947, he married Bettie Ann Morgan in Durant, Oklahoma.  Mr. Gainer was a veteran, having served in the U. S. Army in Germany during World War II.  He was an electronics technician.  Mr. Gainer was a Baptist.

Surviving are his wife of Greenville, Texas; a son, John W. Gainer and wife, Diana of Greenville, Texas; daughter Judy Ann Toles and husband, Bud of Greenville, Texas; grandchildren Eileen Gainer of Seattle, Washington, Ethan Gainer of Commerce,Texas, Jess Toles and Jake Toles of Greenville, Texas; and two sisters Mary Alice Glasgow of Greenville, Texas and Ruby Wigton of Sherman, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Pete, Billy and Tommy Gainer and sisters Willie Gee, Lousise Spencer and Patricia Gainer.
