Bobbie Lou Herod, 85, of Lubbock, passed away on March 14, 2018 at the Carillon Lifecare Community. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park Cemetery. Services are under the directions of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Bobbie was born on April 24, 1932 in Rains County, Texas to William and Vera Barrett Romine. She married Harold Akins on June 4, 1948 in Hunt County, Texas. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1967. She later married Bill Herod who also preceded her in death in 2007. She had a great love for life and was a friend to everyone she met.
Bobbie is survived by her son, Richard Akins and wife, Susie of Lubbock; daughters, Chris Woolam of Lubbock, Pam Akins and husband, Barry Levinson of Sarasota, Florida, Pat Hanna and husband, Mart of Kerrville; son-in-law, Dennis Woodward of Wichita, Kansas; 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cindy Woodward; sisters, Betsy Wallace and Lorene Dart; brothers, Valton Romine and Johnny Romine.
