Randy Glenn Hamilton passed away peacefully March 4, 2018 surrounded by family after a lengthy battle with esophageal cancer.  Randy was born in Gorman, Texas on April 23, 1952 to Glenn and Mary Frances Hamilton.  He attended school in Cisco, Texas, graduating there in 1970.  He joined the United States Air Force in 1974, serving as a Personnel Specialist.  He was very proud to be a veteran.  He attended Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, receiving his Associate's degree in Business.

Randy retired in 2012 from the United States Postal Service after more than 35+ years of service.  Most of his career was in the Greenville, Texas post office where he was Customer Service Supervisor.

He was a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys football team, cheering them on loudly each game he watched, which was all of them.  He enjoyed riding his Victory motorcycle, collecting knives, crappie fishing wherever the fish were biting, and loved spending time with his family and friends.  He loved music, passing his love of country and rock music on to his children.  He loved all animals, but especially dogs.

He is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Mary L. Hamilton of Lavon, Texas; son Jeremy Hamilton and wife, Amanda, of Bonham Texas; daughter Caitlin Renee Hamilton of Wylie, Texas; and step son Dustyn Hamilton, of Wylie, Texas; granddaughters Alli Jo and Mychael Hamilton, of Bonham, Texas; and a brother, Darrel Hamilton, of Boston, Massachusetts.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Mary Frances Hamilton, and a brother, Terry Hamilton.

Randy maintained friendships with most everyone he had ever met.  His quick wit, ever present smile, and sense of humor were very engaging and drew people close to him.  He never met a stranger and was a loyal friend to many.  His beautiful smile, sense of humor, and love of life will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The family will be receiving friends at visitation set for Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas.  Interment will be Friday, March 16, 2018 at 9:15 a.m. at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Randy's name to Esophageal Cancer Awareness Association (Research).  This cancer is considered rare and is grossly underfunded.  It is very aggressive and deadly, and diagnosed 600% more frequently in recent years.  Your tax deductible donation may be sent to Esophageal Cancer Awareness Association (Randy Hamilton), P.O. Box 55071 #15530, Boston, Massachusetts 02205-5071 or visit www.ecaware.org to donate.
