Peggy Jean Norwood
Peggy Jean Lewis Norwood, age 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 14, 2018 after a long illness. Born May 13, 1931 to DB and Gladys Milton Lewis in San Antonio, she married John Norwood in Mexico City in 1959. She is preceded in death by her husband in 2000. parents, and a brother Charles Lewis.
Peggy worked for GISD for many years, and loved to garden, read and travel. She is survived by her son Russ Norwood and Pam of Austin daughter Brenda Fitzgearld and Steve of Greenville, son Dennie Norwood of Houston, granddaughter Brooke Fitzgearld of Dallas, grandson Jared Fitzgearld & Johna of Greenville, great grand-children Jared Jr. and Jade, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at Coker Mathews Funeral Home 6-8 PM on Thursday, February 1. In the spring the family will scatter her ashes to rejoin her husband John.
