Oakley Van Elvington

Just four months after coming into this world, Oakley Van Elvington passed away peacefully in his parent’s arms at Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas.  During that fleeting time, he touched many lives and was loved by all.

Born 13 weeks early and weighing only 1 pound 9 ounces, Oakley was still able to grip his mother’s finger and respond to his father’s touch during his brief stay on earth.  He was born at Hunt regional Hospital on April 18, 2017 and went to be an angel in heaven on August 18, 2017 at 1:22 PM.

Oakley joins his great-grandparents, Cliff Bridges of Greenville, Texas, Leon Wineinger of Greenville, Texas, Rollie Mack Elvington of Pilot Point, Texas and Phillis Jo Poter Van Slyke of Pilot Point, Texas in heaven.  He is survived by his father, Taylor Elvington, mother Tiffany (Wineinger) Elvington; brother, Bryson Elvington; grandparents, Randy and Kelly Wineinger, Trudy Wineinger, Kimberly Elvington and Mark Elvington.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Ratliff officiating.  Interment will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be Sunday, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hunt Regional Hospital, Medical City Plano and Medical city Children’s Hospital in Dallas for all the wonderful care given to Oakley.

"Oakley is a little boy who has been in many people's prayers, including mine. He has been on our prayer list at Highland Terrance and in Bible Study classes. Our consolation rests in the fact he is in His Father's arms now at peace in Heaven. My prayers are with his mom, dad, and little brother and family who mourn his
passing."
