Morell was a member of North Baptist Church, now known as The Church at River Oaks in Greenville.

Morell is survived by his children Robert Tidwell (Haroula), Joyce Abernathy (Ron), Freida Williams (Phil) and James Williams (Cindy); 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
