Nell Thomason
Retha Nell Thomason, 82, of Greenville, died Friday, September 23, 2016 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Johnson Street Church of Christ with Randy Daw and Rick Henslee officiating under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, September 26, 2016 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thomason was born in Bailey, Texas on March 21, 1934. She was the daughter of James William Powell and Alva Mae McKelva Powell. She married Billy Boyd Thomason on September 19, 1952 in Bonham, Texas. She retired from E-Systems in 1990 and was an income tax preparer for 42 years. She was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her sons, Johnny Thomason and wife, Suzette of Allen and Dennis Thomason and wife, Robbie of Lewisville; sisters, Cleda Hamilton of Rockwall, Oueda Gantt of Bailey, Joni Curry of Emory and Ann Higgins of Bonham; and grandsons, Brad Thomason of McKinney and Tyler Thomason of Allen. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Joe and Weldon Powell.
Pallbearers will be Brad Thomason, Tyler Thomason, Jerry Blakemore, Chris DeBona, Jerry Erwin and Shane LaFavers. Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Powers and Sam Renner.
