Jerry D. Davis, 73, of Greenville, passed away August 5, 2016 at Greenville Gardens Nursing Home. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Kavanaugh United Methodist Church with Rev. John Kay and Rev. Jim Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jerry was born March 28, 1943 in Beckley, West Virginia to Elmer R. and Mary Bell Williamson Davis. He married Bonnie Burroughs on June 20, 1964 in Plano, Illinois. Jerry was the former General Plant Manager of Mary of Puddin Hill, Deco Trunk and Distribution Manager of Walker Manufacturing. He was a member of Kavanaugh United Methodist Church where he was a past member of the Administrative Board and Board of Trustees. He was also former members of the Elks Lodge and the Daybreak Rotary.
Jerry is survived by his daughters, Laura Davis Walden and Carrie Davis of Greenville; brothers, Norman Davis and Kenny Davis of Beckley, West Virginia; sister, Brenda Goddard of Plano, Illinois; grandson, Connor Davis of Greenville; niece, Rebecca Coley Ellis of Melissa; nephew, James Coley of The Colony; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Valerie and Dan Coley of The Colony.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brothers, Buck and Jimmy Davis.
Pallbearers will be James Coley, Pete Haayen, James Hamilton, John Henson, Mike Kearns and Richard Kearns.
