Johnny Whitney
Johnny C. Whitney, Jr., 74 of Grapevine, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Grapevine. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, May 16, 2016 in Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation will be Sunday, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born in Titus County, Texas on July 7, 1941, he was the son of J. C. Whitney, Sr. and Katherine Alsobrook. He married Debbie Lynn Stowell on September 25, 1982 in Midland. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and a master electrician.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Whitney of Grapevine; daughter, Taya Lynn Brown and husband, Jeremy of Frisco; brother, Jim Whitney of Andrews; children by a previous marriage, Francine Sadler, Amy Watkins, Kimothy Whitney-Miller, Jackie Whitney, Monty Whitney and James Whitney; nephew, Trent Whitney; niece Christie Whitney-Jobe; many loved grandchildren and many family friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Jimmy Whitney.
