Roy Travis, Jr. 66, of Campbell, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer . A Memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday until service time.

Mr. Travis was born in Denison, Texas on July 27, 1949 to Roy Travis, Sr. and Jimmie (Ballard) Travis. He married Judy Chaffin on February 23, 1973 at Caney Church in Campbell.   He retired from L3 Communications in 2011 after 31 years.  He had a very unique and one of a kind way of designing things that created a life long passion of welding and building.  There was never a project that couldn't be designed or constructed when Roy was the engineer. As Roy would say, "If I can get my welder to it, I can fix it."  He was also a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife, son, Danny Travis and wife Jessica, daughter, Kimberly Travis Graves and husband Cory, and grandchildren, Jaxon Robert Travis, Mason Roy Travis and River Michael Graves.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother.

In lieu of flowers, the Travis family requests donations to be made to VITAS Hospice, 2716 Lee St Suite 100, Greenville, TX 75401 and would like to give a special thank you to the VITAS Hospice team for their wonderful care of their husband, father and grandfather.
