Dorothy Mae Fergerson Hulsey Rush, 94, beloved mother, sister and aunt, passed away December 9, 2015 in Greenville. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
She was born in Savanna, Oklahoma on September 24, 1921 to Joseph G. Fergerson and Noy Haney Fergerson, the second of five daughters.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Hulsey and his wife Jeanene Hulsey of Dallas; sister, Ruth Holloway of Celeste, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Roy B Hulsey in 1964 and husband, T. N. Rush in 1994, in addition to her sisters, Ruby Roberts, Loretta Price and Bessie Chapman.
Dorothy and her sisters were raised in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. She and her husband, Roy made their home in Dallas raised their son. She worked at Southwest Airmotive for many years until she remarried and moved to Arkansas. After T. N.’s passing she returned to her hometown of Greenville to be near her family.
She was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church and was most thankful for the love and support she received from her church family, especially her deacon family, Troy and Sherri Bradford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Highland Terrace Baptist Church or charity of choice.
