Evelyn Geraldene (Jerry) Stevens, 95, of Greenville, died Thursday, October 1, 2015 in Hunt Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at Hall Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Dr. John T. Tate officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stevens was born in Hunt County on March 1, 1920. She was the daughter of John Smiley and Claudia Lee Slemmons Smiley. She married Raymond Stevens on January 20, 1946 in Lewisville, Texas. She attended the University of North Texas and was an accountant for Danny Darby Real Estate. Mrs. Stevens was a member of Central Christian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherron Stevens Gomez and husband, Augie of Greenville; sisters, Johnny Hanson of Lone Oak and Peggy Manning of Commerce; grandchildren, Christopher Gomez, Andrew Gomez, Amy Duncan, Mary Vargas and Augustine Gomez, III; great-grandchildren, Kaden Gomez, Breann Gomez, Skylar Gomez, Baine Gomez, Sarah Gomez, Alysia Gomez, Monica Gomez, Seth Rios, Isaiah Rios, Brady Duncan, Adrianna Vargas and Cecilia Vargas; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Nina Bernice Smiley.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Gomez, Andrew Gomez, Augie Gomez, III, Kaden Gomez, Brad Duncan and Seth Rios.
