Tommie Ruth Woodall Glossup, 93, of Greenville passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015 at Legend Healthcare. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with George Boyd officiating. Burial immediately follows the service and will be at IOOF Cemetery, Caddo Mills. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Tommie has been a life time resident of Greenville working for the movie theaters, Rialto, Rita, Texan and Colonial. She retired from Haggar’s Pants Manufacturing after 36 years of service. Following retirement, she was the caregiver for many children whom she dearly loved.
Tommie was born September 3, 1921 in Caddo Mills, Texas to Thomas and Annie Woodall. She grew up in Caddo Mills, Merit, Graham Point, Dixon and Greenville. She married Leon Glossup on March 14, 1942 in Greenville.
Tommie is survived by her son Vernon and his wife, Maryanne of Lindale, Texas; granddaughters, Amy Glossup Bancroft and her husband Galen of Porter, Texas; Beth Edwards and husband Jason of Spokane, Washington; and great grandson Austin Blankenship of Houston. She is also survived by brothers Gene Woodall and wife, Nancy and Doyle Woodall of Greenville and sister, Evelyn Smiley of Dixon as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are represented by her nephews Larry Woodall, Webber Woodall, Matt Ottwell, Jordan Ottwell, Randy Tower and Brandon King. Honorary pallbearers are her “beloved children” Chance, Bubba, Brandy, Brittney, Rylee, Justin, Ariel and Emily.
Tommie was preceded in death by her father, mother and husband, as well as beloved brothers, uncles and aunts.
