"I lived in the Gamma Phi Beta house in the late 80s and always enjoyed and appreciated Jo Bell. Affectionately called "Mom" by all of the Gamma Phi sisters, Jo cared for us and tolerated us like only a mother could! She did so much for us - sewing buttons on shirts, making costumes for parties and functions, making delicious food (I still remember her sausage balls and cakes!), chasing boys out of the house, keeping us safe during severe storms, tolerating our constant shenanigans, and letting us in the house at all hours of the night and day when we forgot our house keys . . . again.

To her family, thank you for sharing Jo Bell with us for all of those years. I remember her fondly even after all of these years. My prayers are with you all as you grieve her passing and cherish the memories you have created with her."
