Charles B. Dodds
Charles B. Dodds, 79, of Greenville, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at his home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Ballard and Rev. Desi Hite officiating. Interment will be in Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation was held Friday, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Dodds was born in Elwood, Texas on July 10, 1935. He was the son of John William Dodds and Linnie Maddings Dodds. On September 19, 1965, he married Emily Dyson in Lewisville, Arkansas. He was veteran of the U. S. Navy and a retired electrician from Greenville Independent School District.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Dyson Dodds of Greenville; sons, Gregory Paul Dodds of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Charles (Chip) Dodds of Greenville; daughter, Candace Brooks and husband, James of Plano; grandchildren, Joshua Dodds and wife, Brittany, MacKenzie Railey and husband, Chris, Mindy Severson, Christopher Dodds and Tracy Brooks; five great-grandchildren; and his best friend, Wendell “Mac” Lorance. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Willie Lee (Lyn) Collins.
Pallbearers will be James Forbes, Mac Lorance, Billy Chapman, Christopher Dodds, Max Gill, Joshua Dodds and Doug Northcutt.
