Della Jennings
Della Jaunice "Memaw" Combs Jennings, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Legend Healthcare in Greenville. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, August 18, 2014 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Seigler officiating. Burial will be at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jennings was a member of North Baptist Church, Greenville. Mrs. Jennings was born on March 13, 1921 in Hunt County, Texas to W. Q. McClatchy and Della Guthrie McClatchy. She was married to Lois Dudley Combs on June 13, 1937. He preceded her in death on August 29, 1987. She was remarried to Bert C. Jennings, who also preceded her in death. She was retired from private family business, and was a life-long resident of Hunt County.
Mrs. Jennings loved God, her family, music, gardening and playing dominoes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother, Weldon McClatchy, sister Maxine Webb and one still born grandson. She is survived by a son, Larry Don Combs and wife, Betty of Greenville; daughter, Joan Carolyn Martinez and husband, Rudolph of Mesquite; five grandchildren, Judy Wallace and husband, Sampson, David Combs, Pamela Bird, Dana Newsome and wife, Jacquelin, Starr Kalinowsky and husband, John; seven great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dana Newsome, John Kalinowsky, Alan Ford, Justin Anderton, Jarrod Anderton and Jimmie Webb.
Our family would like to thank Legend Healthcare, Gentiva Hospice Care and Dr. Tom Selvaggi for the special care they have given to our mother.
