Joyce Kay Dobbins, 70 of Merit, passed away on June 3, 2014 at the Royse City Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Mr. Ricky Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
Joyce was born in Greenville, Texas on March 20, 1944 to John and Genevieve Phelps Ishmael. She married Bennie Stephen Dobbins on May 5, 1971 in Dallas. She worked as a secretary for the government and was of the Baptist faith.
Joyce is survived by her son, Joshua Dobbins of Merit; daughter, Kelly Dobbins Harmon and husband Fabian of Merit; granddaughter, Olivia Grace Dobbins of Merit; brother, Bobby Ishmael and wife, Jackie of Bridgeport; sisters, Audrey Hensley and Nelda Ishmael of Garland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and step-son, Bryan Dobbins
