"Dennis was a good friend we went HCJC and UNT together we were members of the proud but few Geezle
Fraternity . We were both juvenile probation officers
in the late 50s. Later we connected when we made a training film in Dallas. Dennis came to see us in DC later on. Once he was at an FPO meeting in DC and was staying in a very rough part of DC ( Thomas Circle ) I asked if he was worried at being there at night and he said he walked out and all pimps and ladies all ran off when they saw him in is big hat and boots. I was convinced he could probably run them down with his great speed. Dennis was a great college and pro football player and a very cool, collected, humble role model and a very great friend. My best to his family and friends..

"To a wonderful brother-in-law who could always cheer a person up and make you laugh whatever the situation. I have known you since I was a young teenager and know that you have had a tremendously successful life and set a role model for anyone you came in contact with. You have been a great husband, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, cousin, brother, the brother I never had and friend to all. I will miss hearing your voice answering the phone when I would call for advice after Wanda and my dad died 10 years ago. I know you are rejoicing with him now. God bless you, and I will continue praying for strength and comfort for the family and will guide Wanda with wisdom and strength."

"Mr Shaw. I miss your early morning antics at the store. Dancing, and telling jokes. You are missed by me and many others. I know you've met God and I bet you had a joke to tell him. RIP"
