Charles Evans
Charles W. Evans, Sr., 76, of Greenville passed away May 22, 2014 at Hunt Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Pastor Butch Bruton officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Thursday until service time.
Born August 24, 1937 in Galveston, Charles was the son of Chilton Woodfin Evans and Dorothy Lucile (Orlds) Evans. On December 13, 1958 in Bellflower, California, he married Sheron Ann Richardson. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years and after his military retirement, also retired from Raytheon as an electrical engineer. He was a member of New Life Church in Caddo Mills.
His survivors include his wife, Sheron of Greenville; son Charles W. Evans, Jr. of New Zealand; and daughters Heidi Donaldson and husband, David and Gena Evans all of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, B. Q. Evans.
