Arvie Dee Dooley, 86, of Greenville died the night of February 28, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville . Funeral services will be at 2 PM Sunday in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Valley Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
Born March 22, 1921 in Hopkins County, he was the son of Dee and Effie Lively Dooley. He married Tressie Marie Hassell on August 30, 1939, in Prairie Valley. He retired as the owner-operator of a daycare facility. Mr. Dooley was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; a son, Timothy Dee Dooley and wife, Bonnie of Greenville; a daughter, Vicki Dooley Hazzard and husband, Preston of Euless; brother, Dois Dooley and wife, Wanda of Davis, Oklahoma; two sisters, Wanda Gooch of Greenville and Lois Myers and husband, Bobby of Plano; grandchildren Pete and Witney Hazzard of Little Elm, Tracey and Matt Boyle of Bedford, Kimberly and Nathan Stroh of Humble and Dawn Dooley and Colleen Dooley of Greenville; and great-grandchildren Caitlyn, Lauren and Cameron Hazzard, John Preston and Gracey Boyle.
His parents preceded him in death.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
