Margarete Ellen Wood, Age 88, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Presbyterian Hospital in Greenville. Services will be Saturday, February 23 at 10:00 AM at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Hailes officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wood was born on November 14, 1919 in Wieland, Hunt County, Texas to Harvey Williams and Calla Graham Williams. On September 27, 1941 she married Ulious V. Wood. She was retired having worked for the Citizens General Hosptial and Briarcliff Nursing Center. She was a member of Park Street Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and GA Leader and was active in the WMU.
She is survived by her son, Mark Wood of Kellogg; daughters, Linda Dudley and husband, Ralph of Freeport, Glenda Davis and husband David of Quitman, Reba Nicholson and husband Roger of Greenville, Rita Sinquefield and husband Charles of Tyler, Marily Rogan of Crestview, Florida, and Sherilyn Matthews and husband Mike of Leonard; a sister, Georgia Bullard of Red Oak; 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and l great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy C. Wood; a son-in-law, Greg Rogan; 5 brothers and l sister.
