Peggy Jean (Shanks) Baise, 83, of Greenville, went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, September 8, 2013, at Legend Health Care surrounded by her loving children. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday at Memoryland Memorial Park under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Bishop will officiate. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Baise was born in Hunt County, Texas on September 11, 1929. She was the daughter of P. O. Shanks and Ella Mae Spoonemore Shanks. On August 12, 1950, she married James Paul Baise in Greenville. She worked many years as a seamstress at Henson-Kickernick.
Survivors include her son, Philip Baise of Greenville; daughters, Paula Baise of Greenville and Paige Justus and husband, Mark of Lone Oak; brother, Newman Shanks of Eunice, New Mexico; sisters, Roselyn McKay of Ben Wheeler and Mary Lou Shields of Cash; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and brothers, Jake, John and Preston Shanks; twin brother Ross Shanks; and sisters, Ruth Timmerman and Edith Jones.
