Joe Edwin Hill, 91, formerly of Cedar Creek Lake and Lancaster, passed away May 6, 2013 at Medical Center of Plano. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM until service time. John Moss and Robert Kincaid will officiate. Interment will follow at Brigham Cemetery.
Born December 13, 1921 in Campbell, Joe was the son of John Quincey Hill and Fannie Lula (Scroggins) Hill. On April 6, 1945, in San Diego, Calif., he married Faye Dell McWhirter. He served in the United States Navy and was a retired bank president. He also served as former president of the Lancaster School Board and director of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce. He had been a member of the Cedar Creek United Methodist Church before moving to Plano last year.
His survivors include his daughters Mary Jane Moss and husband, John of Irving and Holly Ann Kincaid and husband, Robert of Plano; and grandchildren Jeffrey, Andrew, and Kathleen Moss.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2012; brothers, J. M. and Orville Hill; and sister, Opal Hogue.
Pallbearers will be Mike Hill, Jack Philips, Andrew Moss, Larry Mayo, John Moss, and Robert Kincaid.
