Mickey was a man with a passion to enjoy life and to help others enjoy it too. This passion was most evident in his vision and establishment of Money Lake as a place to host and entertain family, friends, and guests. Literally thousands of guests have enjoyed his events which have included reunions, fish fries, country dances, seasonal parties, swimming and boating outings, fishing tournaments, church services, holiday meals, weddings, political rallies, campouts and more.
Those who knew Mickey knew him to be a small man with a BIG heart. He was full of energy, enjoyed every minute of life, and counted every day as a blessing from God. He approached life with a positive attitude and was able to find a silver lining even in the darker clouds of life. He saw the good in people that others overlooked. He gave energy and encouragement to others through his wit, laughter and light-heartedness. He was a man of many friends and truly never met a stranger. He loved his friends and community. He cherished his family and adored his wife Leta.
